Smokey Eyes have always been in fashion, but this year they are as Big as ever!  Even brides are asking for this look…  You can change your expression dramatically for the better.  You can have irresistible eye, even if they are not big or bright.

Sarah Tolar-08

Steps to achieve Sarah Tolar’s look:

1. Prepare the eyelid, using primer.

2. Apply eyeliner, using a pencil with a black or brown pencil on the entire eye including the bottom lashes

3. Apply the light, shimmery shadow base color over the lids to your browbone and blend.

4. Apply the darker color just in the eyelid but, keep it below the crease.

5.Get the smokey effect by blending the dark color into the lash line to make the eyeliner disappear, blending up make sure it’s blend into the lighter color as well.

6. Finish the look with a volumizing mascara.

The Makeup And Your Personality

_DSC4891

The way you wear your  makeup and the colors you use reveals who you are, the personality and your emotions.  Makeup sends a message to the world.  People will form opinions about you based on your lipstick color.  It shows how you feel.

Today it’s about looking naturally beautiful, therefore choosing the right foundation is the key.  Foundation can really improve the look and feel of your skin.  Tinted moisture or mineral foundation are very light and can be worn everyday, it protects your skin from exposure to UV light.  It’s a very good way to start a daily cleansing routine, since you have to remove it every day.

After, just pay extra attention to your best feature and accentuate it with your favorite colors that complement you.  Think about color as energy, applying where you want it to pop but if you’re not sure just keep it simple, stick with neutral  colors and just enhance your best features.

Finnish your look with mascara, blush and your favorite lipgloss.

Bridal Tips And Advice

Janis Peck Trial-039Take it from my own personal experience working with brides….

Tip#1: First, I highly recommend that you schedule a trial run with your makeup/hair artist.  When considering a professional makeup/hair artist for your wedding, this is the most important thing to do.  This is your time to meet, to get to know each other and hopefully, to click.  After that, everything else will fall to place.  You and your artist can begin to search for the perfect look for you!  This is the key for a successful and memorable experience, for both the bride and the artist.

Tip #2:  Collect pictures from magazines and from the internet that you think fit with your desired look.  You’ll want to show your ideas clearly to make sure that you and your makeup/hair artist are starting off on the same page. Remember that a picture is certainly worth a thousand words.  And this will help to avoid any misunderstanding. When you are experimenting at your trial, your artist may make some suggestions and you may change direction but, you’ll do this together.

Tip #3:  When you go to your trial, be sure to wear a top with a similar color tone to your wedding dress.

Tip #4:  Make sure you have pictures taken at your trial.

Tip #5: Don’t ever schedule your makeup/hair trial when you have something else to do afterward. You want to be relaxed.  Ask your artist how long she or he estimates you will need and make sure to allow for that.  The only exception to this would be if possible, to schedule your engagement pictures for after the trial.   This is a great way to save money.  And since you will be photographed by your professional wedding photographer, you’ll have the best chance to appreciate your look in the photos!

Note: Make sure your hair/makeup artist rearranges the look and adjusts it for your engagement portraits.

Tip #6:  Show your photos to friends and family for feedback…
